Thank You for Your Generosity
Our mission depends on your generosity, but processing unusable donations—such as soiled textiles or items broken or damaged by vermin—costs us thousands of dollars annually in disposal fees. To respect our volunteers, our guests, and our budget, we kindly ask that you only donate items in clean, safe, and functional condition. Your mindfulness ensures that every dollar we save goes directly back into the community. Before donating, ask yourself: “Would I use this safely and with pride?” If the answer is no, please dispose of it at home. Thank you.

🌟 Join Us in Creating a Community Space Upstairs — Extending Our Mission
We’ve moved inside with our renovations and are transforming the upstairs of our building into a welcoming community space. This new area will not only give us room to store and organize our program materials—it will also open our doors wider to the many nonprofits serving our neighbors. Half of the space will support our own growing needs, and the other half will be available for local community organizations that need a place to meet, collaborate, or serve clients. The new community space will include:
- A conference room equipped for Zoom and hybrid meetings
- An ADA‑standard bathroom
- Office space for volunteers and partner organizations
- A private counseling office to support confidential services
This renovation is more than a building project. It’s an investment in the nonprofits that strengthen our community every day.
💜 You Can Be Part of This Venture
If you’d like to help create this shared space for community nonprofits, please consider making a special gift. Gifts of $1,000 or more, designated for UPSTAIRS RENOVATION, will be recognized on our website as a lasting tribute to your generosity.

Thank You, Keweenaw Health Foundation

A big thank you to Keweenaw Health Foundation for their generous grant of $20,000 to further our Mission Expansion. We are using the money to install heat and air conditioning in the second floor community conference room, offices, and work space. This space will be open to use by other not-for-profits in Calumet, once completed.
